Introduction

This training course is for those who work in low risk confined spaces. A Low risk confined space exists when there is easy entry/exit, no risk of flooding and adequate natural or mechanical ventilation.

Low risk confined spaces would be associated with lone working requiring the application of appropriate procedures

  • The Confined Spaced Regulations 1997
  • Identification of risks and their control
  • Prepare to work safely in Low Risk confined spaces
  • Enter and exit Low Risk confined spaces safely
  • Hazardous atmospheres and gas monitoring
  • Follow procedures and work safely
  • Roles, responsibilities and toperson / bottom man duties
  • Safe use equipment and tools safely
  • Pre use checks, correct donning & adjustment of harness
  • Emergencies procedures
  • Use appropriate behaviour when working in Low Risk confined spaces
  • Inspection and applications of tripods, winches and fall arrest equipment
  • Practical exercises & assessments
