Introduction

BS 7985 gives practical advice and recommendations for good practice to those who use specialist rope access methods for work at height and those who commission rope access work.

The standard applies to anyone using safety harnesses, fall protection equipment and rope access methods. The standard applies to industrial rope access work only, where the prime activity is the work itself

Day 1 - Deals with the aims of rope access, the equipment used and practical training in ascent/ descent with particular emphasis on rope set ups and knot work. 
Day 2 - More advanced rope access skills - rope to rope transfers and by-passing knots. Roof edge deployment and rope rescue Training. Mechanical advantage 3:1 and piggy back rigs.
Day 3 - The last day of the course involves assessment of skills and knowledge by an external assessor.

Delegates will need to bring outdoor clothing suitable for the seasonal weather conditions. Climbing PPE will be provided.
