Introduction

Course Structure 1: Full Day which includes Theory & Practical
This course consists of a full-day session at XI Training, covering both the theory element and practical assessments.

  • 1 or 2 categories (1b, 3a, 3b): £210.00 + VAT per person
    (Add £35.00 + VAT if a physical IPAF PAL card is required)
  • 3 categories (1b, 3a, 3b): £315.00 + VAT per person
    (Add £35.00 + VAT if a physical IPAF PAL card is required)

Course Structure 2: E-Learning & Practical Assessment
This course allows candidates to complete the theory element online at home or work, followed by a half-day practical assessment at XI Training.

An e-learning link will be issued to each candidate.

The online course is delivered via the IPAF e-learning platform. Delegates must use a device with a camera to meet IPAF facial recognition requirements. Most modern smartphones, tablets, and laptops are compatible with the platform.

MEWPS for Managers

This is an online e-learning course that will take approximately 4-6 hours to complete, and is designed to instruct supervisors and managers on how to prepare and safely co-ordinate various types of MEWPs within their control.

This course is ideal for employers, project managers, foremen and supervisors working in a wide range of industries such as construction, facilities management, retail, airports and arboriculture.

This is also suitable for anyone who is responsible for planning and overseeing the use of MEWPs on their job site.

This course includes: 

  • An introduction including pre-course theory test, IPAF and PAL card overview
  • Understanding the different machine classifications ( 1a, 1b, 3a, 3b, MC, TPI and IAD )
  • Awareness of the different types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)
  • Examine the history of MEWPs and the sustainability of machine for tasks 
  • Understanding requirements for pre-use checks and daily maintenance prior to work commencing
  • Understanding of regulations relating to MEWP usage
  • Brief view of machines to understand some of the hazards
  • Understanding the delivery of machines and familiarisation process on site

The theory learning finishes with delegates completing a short multiple choice exam.

This online training course is administered on the IPAF eLearning platform which requires delegates to use a device that has camera capabilities in line with IPAF facial recognition software. Most mainstream smart phones, tablets and laptops will work in conjunction with the eLearning platform.

All PPE kit is provided by XI Training. However if delegates prefer to use their own PPE, they are required to bring along the associated and relevant inspection records.
